I had a sudden realization today that I'm way behind on my blogging!  And, in the middle of all the rain we're getting, I thought this lovely summer wedding would be just the thing to remind us that the sun will shine again!  Alison and Brian were SO much fun to photograph.  They love each other vibrantly and with great joy.  Enjoy the happiness!

I had so much fun at this portrait session at Ashlawn Highlands in Charlottesville, VA.  Family portrait sessions are great, as you get to see how families grow over the years.  So fun!

I had so much fun photographing Heather and Christian's wedding.  As you can tell from the photos, they and their whole family laughed easily and took great delight in the day!  Heather and Christian had their ceremony outside at Ashlawn Highlands in Charlottesville, Virginia and then used Ashlawn's indoor barn reception space.  We had a gorgeous Virginia early summer day, and the result is awesome!  I hope you enjoy!

One of my favorite reasons for loving Mary and Daniel's wedding photos is knowing their background, as it so informs the depth of their love and commitment to one another.  When I first met with Mary to discuss her wedding, she told me that she was trying to do everything reasonably so that she could have a big wedding with great food where lots of people she loved would hear about Jesus.  What an amazing goal!  Not to glorify herself or even the love that Mary and Daniel share, but to recognize the source of all perfect love through the manner in which they celebrated their wedding vows.  Well, that was a goal I could get on board with!  Secondly, knowing Mary and Daniel's military background (commissionings happened very close to the wedding date), makes their sweetness and intimacy all the sweeter.  At the outset, they know life will bring challenges, and in that, they are still clearly SO delighted to be walking this road together.  Mary and Daniel, I pray that your marriage is filled with fullness, blessings, and sweet communion with the Father.
